Vendex Midlands is not far away at all, and we’re sure that you’ve booked your hotel rooms, if appropriate, finalised your electrics and stand designs if you’re exhibiting and hopefully everyone is on board with your objectives.
Exhibiting is not as easy as it sounds, and although Vendex should be easier than most, in fact it will need MORE discipline and more focus than an exhibition that lasts over two or three days.
Why? Well, for a start it’s only one packed day. You start at 10.00 and finish at 4.00 (woe betide anyone who breaks down their stand before 4 – the Vendex police will get you!) Six hours though, only six hours to identify who you want to speak to and who, frankly, it would be better if you caught up with at one of the more social events. As cost effective as this show is, it is still a major investment for most companies exhibiting. So, know who you want to talk to, invite them to come and see you, make appointments if you can and keep the socialising for the quiet times or in the bar afterwards. We’ve all been on exhibitions where hangers on, hang on and just chat aimlessly for what seems like hours. Not the best return on your investment, fun though it might be!
Secondly, be precise and concise with your walk up visitors. Find out quickly if you can help, there’s no point talking to them about something that isn’t of any interest – let them move on. Again time is short isn’t it?
