Once again marketing teams use Vending Machines with significant footfall to engage with the public when launching a new product or just to re-inforce a message. Here we have the team at Strongbow Cider use an interactive game in their launch campaign for Strongbow Dark Fruit.
Commuters and passers-by at London’s Victoria Station were encouraged to be the Strongbow archer and fire a virtual arrow at the blackberry target on the screen. Their movement was picked up by the machine using kinetic software and if challengers got it right by hitting the blackberry in three shots or less, they were rewarded with a can of Strongbow Dark Fruit.
Would you have a go? Tell us what you think of these stunts, do they work? Send Planet Vending any more links you’ve seen and even better – send us real live videos. Maybe you have seen one of these machines and had a go yourself? If so, we’d love to publish.
We are seeing, on a daily basis, how Vending has progressed over the years to being the smart, interactive, marketing tool that it is today. Vending is flexible, adaptable, healthy, a source of sustainance and refreshment and now…. a lot of fun!
