State-of-the-art vending machines enabled with the world’s most advanced telemetry are set to save UK operators and facilities managers ‘up to 80 per cent of costs on current engineering interventions’, according to vending equipment supply company, Smart Vend Solutions.
The advancement represents significant time and cost savings for operators as it removes the need for both manual repairs and restocking requests, potentially reducing the average number of costly engineering call-outs per year from three to one. (This is based on extensive field tests carried out by Rheavendors Servomat in Germany this year on a sample of 20,000 machines).
By linking each machine to a centralised ‘always on’ IP communications system, the usage, maintenance, potential mechanical failures and reverse calculated stock levels of every unit is automatically fed back to the operator.
Never again will machines run out of coffee, milk or cups, thus significantly reducing lost revenue due to machine down time.
The TM.On software is able, for example, to correlate directly the amount of coffee beans ordered by the client with the precise dose per drink, before automatically scheduling a pre-emptive delivery and relaying any maintenance issues.
Never again will machines run out of coffee, milk or cups, thus significantly reducing lost revenue due to machine down time.
To ensure the uninterrupted functionality of the machines, Smart Vend Solutions has launched a box swap ‘pool’ maintenance system. Any machines reporting serious pre-emptive maintenance issues that can’t be fixed over the phone by our factory trained help desk staff are simply replaced by an identical machine. The up-lifted machine is then refurbished and takes its place in the ‘pool’, ready for the next swap.
The launch of this new telemetry technology comes just a month after Smart Vend Solutions was launched to the UK market, heralding the arrival of the world’s first vending machine enabled for facial recognition, the Luce X2 Touch TV.
Part of the Stanco Services Group, which has been established for 24 years with a UK-wide presence, headquartered in Welwyn Garden City, Smart Vend Solutions offers a new nationwide one-stop shop for vending equipment sales, maintenance and technical field support.
An AVA member, Smart Vend Solutions is the exclusive UK distribution partner of Rheavendors. Smart Vend Solutions MD Malcolm Standage told P.V. “we want Smart Vend Solutions to be positioned as a specialist in this marketplace. Through our exclusive partnership with Rheavendors, we are determined to explore all avenues to bring these unique benefits to businesses and consumers across the UK.

“The back-end telephony capability of these machines is truly revolutionary and will have a profound and positive effect on the day-to-day responsibilities of operators and FMs. The system even allows us to remotely control the strength settings of the beverages served in each machine, to ensure your customers receives their optimum drink.
“The potential loss of revenue during machine down time due to stock shortage or maintenance issues has been a long-term issue in the vending industry. These problems are inevitably accompanied by additional costs.”
By combining the Rheavendors’ TM.On system and Smart Vend Solutions’ box swap ‘pool’ maintenance system, machines should never be ‘down’ or out of stock. This heralds a significant reduction in costs and time, as well as increased piece-of-minds for operators and their customers.”
