N&W has backed Diane Hunter’s cross-channel charity row by donating a brand-new Koro Max, which will be auctioned from the York Coffee Systems web site.

An all-female team, describing themselves as ‘desperate housewives’, ‘The Channel 7 Rowing Team 2013’ is comprised of friends who met as mums ‘at the school gates’, is in training; backed by members of Wakefield Sea Cadets. The friends were spurred to action following the tragic death of fourteen year-old William Blackburn from meningitis. (You can read the full story here on Planet Vending).
‘One of the girls had seen a cross-channel rowing effort on ‘Comic Relief’ and we decided that’s what we’d do’, Diane said. The fact that none of the women had ever rowed before, let alone in the sea, was not seen as an impediment to success… And so it was that the ‘ladies who lunch’ (Diane excepted!) became the ‘ladies who train’.
‘Diane’s story really moved us’, N&W’s Aileen Edwards told PV, ‘and I’m really pleased that we were able to help out.’
To bid for the machine (and why wouldn’t you?), simply visit the York Coffee Systems web site.
‘It’s really generous of N&W to provide their support’, Diane said, ‘and I’d like to take this opportunity to thank them for donating such a wonderful machine.’
You can donate at the team’s Virgin Money Giving page, which is here
