What Operators Need to Know about Cashless Payments – A Webinar by Nayax and Visa.
Nayax and Visa will present a free webinar on Tuesday, 13 October at 19:00 BST (14.00 EST) under the banner ‘What Operators Need to Know About Cashless Payments’. The webinar comes on the back of a highly successful inaugural event, in which the primary speaker was Mastercard’s Domenico Paparella.
The special guest for the Nayax and Visa event will be Jeff Beach, Vice President, Merchant Sales & Solutions, VISA. In concert with Nayax experts, Jeff will be covering all aspects of cashless payments and discussing how they relate to unattended industries.
The topics covered by ‘What Operators Need To Know About Cashless Payments’ will include identifying where the demand for contactless is coming from, how unattended verticals are contributing to this demand; why contactless payments are important to consumers and what operators should know about cashless transactions, including the changes they can expect
‘As a leading global payment processor for unattended retail operations, we’re always looking for ways to improve our customers’ payment experiences and we were delighted that so many people from the industry joined us for our first webinar’, Lewis Zimbler told PV. ‘On the heels of the COVID-19 pandemic, there’s clearly an appetite for the webinar as a virtual forum in which the increased rise in cashless payment usage by consumers can be discussed. I’ve had reports from those who attended ‘Cashless Payments Before, During And After Covid-19’ telling me it was a very valuable event, so I expect even more people to register for the Nayax and Visa ‘What Operators Need to Know About Cashless Payments’ event. Vending operators should certainly aim to be part of it’, Lewis said.
The pre-eminence of cashless as the consumer’s payment method of choice broke new ground in 2019; a year in which, for the first time, cash was used for less than a quarter of all payments. John Howells the Chief Executive of Link, confirms that the ‘dash from cash’ has accelerated as the New Normal of living with COVID-19 began to emerge. ‘Over the past five months, (to June 2020) we have seen reductions in ATM volumes that were expected over five years,’ he said, adding: ‘During the lockdown, we have seen a large drop in ATM volumes – down by 55 per cent. Link research shows because of coronavirus, 54 per cent of consumers say they will use cards more and a third say they will use ATMs less.
