Proclaimed by bloggers as the “coolest office in the world”, Mintel’s London HQ brings together an eclectic mix of Doctor Who themes, festival vibes and very clever workspace design, and it is now home to the revolutionary TopBrewer coffee machine.
The TopBrewer by Scanomat is quickly becoming the coffee machine of choice for the modern workspace with its sleek design, advanced app-based technology and – of course – its great coffee, (which, incidentally, is roasted by Scanomat in their own micro-roastery).
Simon Bracken, Managing Director of Scanomat UK, originally met Peter Haigh, Mintel’s CEO, as part of a series of events arranged by the Advanced Workplace Association. He said: “We visited Mintel’s HQ and Peter kindly took us on a guided tour of his offices and I was extremely impressed with the well thought out and original design of the space. Peter explained how initially he wasn’t keen on the idea but is now a huge evangelist for the benefits of the modern agile workplace.
‘Good coffee and design can bring people together in the workspace.’ Simon Bracken
“It was very encouraging, during Workplace Week, when the subject of coffee kept coming up in the discussion. At Scanomat we believe good coffee and design can bring people together in the workspace, improve staff morale and subsequently increase productivity and opportunities for collaboration. The TopBrewer is the first professional coffee machine that truly embraces design and compliments agile working principles. I spoke to Peter about it and we decided to work on this project together.”
He added; “The TopBrewer has already received a lot of attention from Mintel staff and guests alike. Since being installed it is serving on average 300 drinks per day.”
Mintel are renowned as a leading global market research company who specialise in delivering first- class data, trends and insight to a wide range of businesses. Their expertise in market research make them perfectly positioned to deliver an outstanding report on the impact of the TopBrewer in the workplace. As part of the research project, Mintel have commissioned a stylish new island unit with glass surface to house the TopBrewer in their open plan meeting & reception area.
Peter Haigh, CEO of Mintel, is delighted with the ‘new recruit’: “Scanomat have managed to combine a clean and intuitive design with a highly functional machine which delivers high quality drinks’, he said. ‘The capacity to personalise individual drinks makes it a real talking point when our clients visit us.”
Scanomat plan to work with Mintel’s researchers on a specific project about the role of coffee in the modern workspace and will publish their findings in due course.
