Winning a Vendie Award can take you to some unexpected places…
As we reported back in August, David Bryant of SnackTime got more than he bargained for when he was announced as ‘Service Engineer of the Year, Sponsored by N&W’. Along with colleague and fellow Vendie winner Lisa Blythe, (‘Route Operator of the Year – sponsored by Vendman’), David was invited to visit Russia as an honoured guest of Uvenco.
Not bad; but now, ‘to top it all’, David has agreed to ‘star’ in a ‘day-in-the-life’ video to be produced by SnackTime supplier Parcel Holders.

‘David was the ideal candidate to feature in our film’, Parcel holders’ MD Ed Fraser said. ‘He’s acknowledged as the best in the country at what he does, but there’s more to it than that: David is due to make his 100th collection from a Parcel Holders’ PUDO, so there are few – if any – service engineers in the UK with more experience of using our service.’
The intended audience for the production consists of service engineers employed by new Parcel Holder’s customers. ‘Service engineers are just like the rest of us in that they’re suspicious of change, especially change that they think is being foisted on them’, Ed said. ‘We thought, ‘what better way to demonstrate that the system makes a service engineer’s life easier than to get David Bryant on camera?’’
‘It’ll be an unusual ‘day at the office’, David said, ‘but I’m looking forward to the experience and it’s a big chance for us to share SnackTime’s values with a wider audience, so let’s hope everybody wins.’
Filming for the project begins tomorrow.
