International Paper has replaced Mike Gardner, (the new Bender’s recruit), by appointed David Lawlor as Sales and Marketing Director. David’s brief is to assist the global packaging concern in the development of its on-going business strategy, whilst supporting and helping to drive forward the company’s long-term growth plan.

Having spent a significant proportion of his career in the foodservice industry in a variety of roles, ranging from export control and distribution management to sales and marketing and business development, David has a broad knowledge and understanding of the sector as well as a specific experience of disposable products. Managing Director of International Paper Foodservice, Mike Turner, is delighted to have David on board: “We expect David to play a significant role in driving new business in the coming months as he helps us to meet our targets and expand our reach in certain areas,” he said. “He has an extremely impressive CV and a comprehensive understanding of the foodservice and catering disposables world, so he’s a very welcome addition to the team.”
David joins IP at a key stage in the company’s development. “International Paper has recently made a significant investment in new tooling which means that it can now produce 7oz and 12 oz paper cups to fit vending machines for the very first time from its UK base in Winsford. We have already started talking to key players in the vending industry about this development and we expect to have secured some sales ahead of manufacturing, later this summer.
“I’ve been very impressed with the quality of the products in IP’s portfolio and have already earmarked the ecotainer® selection as the line to bring into focus again in the coming months. There is so much to shout about with this range as customers are acutely aware of environmental issues. It’s a very exciting time for the IP and I’m looking forward to delivering the best possible results.”
