Huhtamaki UK Ltd. says it ‘has built upon its long-standing commitment to continuous improvements in energy efficiency’ in achieving ISO 50001 certification.
ISO 50001 is the international, cross-industry standard for establishing, implementing, maintaining and improving an energy management system.
Recognition for its energy management system and drive to reduce energy consumption was awarded to Huhtamaki following an intensive three-day audit of its Gosport-based site.
‘We’re delighted that Huhtamaki UK Ltd. has achieved ISO 50001, the formal recognition of our commitment to reducing both our energy consumption and our impact on the environment’, said Catherine Tipper, Head of Business Excellence. ‘The certification cements our compliance with the new ESOS regulations, which will come into force in December 2015. It’s a fantastic achievement for our Gosport site because it represents a great deal of hard work and dedication by a lot of people. In fact, the lead auditor praised everyone involved in the audit both for their commitment to continuous improvement and for their extensive knowledge and unending enthusiasm for our quest for energy efficiency.’
