Drinkmaster’s New Man Targets Vending

There’s no doubt at all in Arthur Day’s mind that there’s huge potential for Drinkmaster products in the vending industry. Arthur has  joined  Drinkmaster to head up UK Sales and increase their product awareness across new sectors.

Having worked in the vending industry in a varied range of roles, including managing some high profile national accounts, Arthur was offered the opportunity to join the Drinkmaster team, a challenge which has proven irresistible.

An impressive line-up…

‘If you’ve ever flown Ryan Air you may have sampled Drinkmaster products. Similarly, if you pop into the bookies in your lunch hour, you will more than likely find the Drinkmaster solution’, Arthur said. ‘In fact, wherever space is limited and there’s control on costs – waiting rooms, staff rooms; meeting rooms, reception areas; garages, trade counters, car dealerships – the chances are you’ll get up close and personal with a Drinkmaster product.’

Heading for the vending market?

Drinkmaster was established in 1962 as manufacturer and the company still produces all its products in Liskeard, Cornwall. Every drink that leaves the factory is sealed for freshness, hygiene and shelf-life and they include some of Britain’s favourite brands, from Nestle, Unilever, Douwe Egberts and many others, manufactured under license.

‘Our products have all the attributes required to appeal to the vending sector’, Arthur said. ‘We provide a high quality hot drinks solution that’s low cost and highly efficient. It’s perfect for locations where the volume is too low to justify an expensive coffee machine or plumbing is not readily available.’

Having worked for Blue Chip companies, PV wondered whether the transition to a relatively smaller company was causing any challenges? The question gets a laugh in response. ‘I’m really enjoying it. It’s a small team, but it’s a team with heaps of experience and expertise, which is very stable.

‘I made the move because there’s an opportunity at Drinkmaster to help take the business to a whole new level’, Arthur said. ‘There’s a lot of untapped potential. These days, the vast majority of people in the private sector work in small businesses, making a huge market. When Drinkmaster began there were still factories where thousands of people worked and vending machines had to be able to handle huge volumes of customers, but those days are long gone and traditional vending companies have had to adapt to that change by targeting the increasing numbers of smaller workplaces. Drinkmaster is an ideal solution for these locations in so many ways and I’m sure that vending companies will see the fit, too.’

Operators: It sounds as though you can expect Arthur to be in touch soon, but if you can’t wait, he can be reached by e-mail: aday@drinkmaster.co.uk Ed.
