DGB Celebrates Twenty Years’ Service To Vending

PICTURED: Three generations of the Barlow family

DGB Refrigeration, the Nottingham based provider of specialist refrigeration services and equipment, celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.

It was back in February ’94 when owner, Doug Barlow, with the help and support of his wife, sister and brother-in-law, established DGB Refrigeration, following the purchase of a business which Doug had been managing since 1979.

With the continued support of both customers and suppliers, many of which have been with DGB since Day One, the business went from strength to strength. In fact, it soon outgrew its premises, located in a small factory unit in Miall Street, Radford, Nottingham. The rapid growth of the business soon required the opening of a second unit.

From the outset, DGB’s vision was to become the vending industry’s best service provider and that focus has never faltered. Thanks to a workforce dedicated to ensuring customer satisfaction and a no-nonsense, ‘right-first-time’ approach to quality, DGB’s initial growth was sustained, which resulted in relocation, in 1999, to larger, purpose-built premises.

Despite the growth and success, DGB is still very much a family business dedicated to delivering the best possible service, and products of the highest quality, to its customers.

In recent months, Doug has taken a back seat by handing over the reins to his son Gary, who has worked closely with his father for 16 years and has inherited the same philosophy and ethos.

Despite difficult trading conditions DGB has continued to increase its customer base and the company’s vision for the future is, as ever, to be the best provider of refrigeration services to the vending industry.

If the company succeeds in maintaining its excellent standards of quality and service, continuing growth would seem to be assured…
