AVA Futures Launches Inaugural Meeting – before Vendex North

The Next Generation of vending industry leaders are making their voices heard through a new AVA group; AVA Futures brings together the vending professionals of tomorrow to share views and ideas, discuss key concepts and issues affecting the industry together with learning from established, successful businesses and industry experts.

“The first AVA Futures meeting was a huge success and sets the stage for ensuring that our industry can continue to thrive in increasingly complex times,” says Kennedy Procter, the AVA’s Marketing & Communications Executive, who has been the architect of this new group.

“As AVA Futures network grows, it will be an ideal way to advance the skills and knowledge base of the ‘Next Generation’ of personnel within all AVA member organisations,” says David Llewellyn, Chief Executive of the AVA.

The group held its inaugural meeting prior to Vendex North, establishing its first project. They will focus on the growth of cashless payments and current unique requirements for vending applications. Other future topics include digital advertising, micro-markets, Apprenticeships and Graduate Schemes.

Getting involved

The inaugural meeting was well attended but every AVA Member company is eligible to join. Similar to other AVA Groups, AVA Futures will meet 2 to 3 times a year both in person or using web-based technology, conference calls and via digital channels. With professional development being a focus for the group, they are keen to build seminars and factory visits into their meeting agendas.

Ideally, nominated members will have up to 5 years industry experience with a view to a leadership role in their organisation or a “next generation” employee in a family owned SME. Anyone interested in being a part of AVA Futures should contact Kennedy Procter at the AVA.
