The AVA has summoned members to a hastily arranged meeting, which will  be held in the environs of Birmingham Airport on the afternoon of Wednesday, 9 January 2013.

The UK Food Standards Agency, under the auspices of DEFRA, has invited the AVA to comment on EU Food Information for Consumers Regulation No 1169/2011 – Allergen Labelling Provisions and the meeting is designed to help crystalise the AVA’s approach.

‘This regulation has implications for the Vending Industry’

‘This regulation has implications for the Vending Industry and we must ensure that we have a robust, all-encompassing submission that both protects our industry and allows us to continue to thrive and prosper’, AVA CEO Jonathan Hilder said today.

The AVA is asking for members’ input to ensure that the submission it makes is robust, fair and accurate.

The timetable for events is as follows:

11th December 2012 ; NOTICE to all AVA members to participate in an AVA Consultation meeting at, or near Birmingham Airport which will be held on 9th January 2013 between 2pm and 4pm.
