Always keen to support new and innovative ideas, vending software leaders Vendman Systems (now part of the Vianet Group) teamed up with niche machine creators Tubular Systems for the recent NIVO seminar at Lingfield.
Tubular Systems had already created a SIM vending machine as previously covered here on Planet Vending but founder Kevin Egglesden had a bit of a Eureka moment when he came across a busker on the London Underground who he wanted to reward. He didn’t have any cash on him so sadly the harpist missed out, but it got him thinking that charities must have the same kind of issues and be missing out on impulse donations.
An engineer by trade, he set about developing the Charity kiosk that was showcased on the Vendman stand at NIVO. Kevin said ‘ It was fantastic for both Tubular Systems Ltd and Vendman Systems Ltd to partner together to make a difference for EdUKAid and The Gallagher Trust. We were overwhelmed by donations during the event, and we thank everyone who donated.
Rob Little, MD of Vendman, said ‘We were delighted to be chosen to provide the contactless reader for the Charity kiosk as we thought it was a fabulous idea and an early opportunity to show that the combination of Vendman with Vianet as an end to end solution for the industry.’ Rob said, ‘We’re also very happy to announce that we’ll be showcasing the pod again at Vendex so our chosen charities EdUkAid and The Gallagher Trust will receive another boost of funds’.
